Yes I agree with you the scenes from the 1920’s with DeNiro made that movie. I also thought Lee Strasberg who played Hyman Roth did an excellent performance.

The number one movie on my all time favorite list. It is amazing. However, if you ever saw it, your expectations would be so high, that......well, you know the rest.

Don't get me started on Talia Shire..

You may know this, but here goes for those who may not:

When Coppola was making the movie there were many issues and problems with Paramount management. At one point he truly believed he was going to be fired. So he hired his father to play the piano (that is his hands in the scene when they are on the mattresses) and he hired his sister (Talia Shire) to play Connie. His primary reasons: "If they fire me, at least some people in my family will make some money"

Never saw it...people keep telling me should.

Godfather,Godfather II,Goodfellas...the three best Mafia films ever made.

Casino was pretty good but not a classic.

You should see it. It’s a rare perfect combination of personalities. Greater than it’s parts.

And always remember if Sonny Corleone had EZ Pass he’d be alive today.

I would love to have one of those shotguns his bodyguards carried.

That scene has a famous blooper in it. Compare the windshield after the first gun blasts with the windshield at the very end.

It’s been said (even here on FR which is why I believe it) that Godfather II was one of the only examples in the history of film where the sequel equaled or even surpassed it’s predecessor as a cinematic masterpiece.

Then again, I am deeply saddened there was no follow up to Red Dawn, as I am not a deep thinker.
