I never went on a spring break because that was an opportunity for me to work full time so I could pay my own way! I got one year paid for playing baseball, tested out academically and got credit for 12 hours of classes, graduated a semester early with student loans of ....$1700.

Same here. I worked summers for a family friend who owned a landscaping company, plus one in a mail room. Both paid substantially above minimum wage at the time.
