My all-time favorite band ever.
Saw them live in 1986 opening for Tina Turner in Lubbock, Texas. I was there for their pre-show sound check, and was singing and dancing. I think they were surprised anyone in Texas knew who they were.
Still love this band.

I used to play bass guitar. Check out some of Mark King’s (lead vocalist and bass player) bass tutorials on some of the video tube sites. The man is a machine. Out and out machine.

Agreed! Mark King's slap style is among the best (if you like that sort of thing.) Your description of him as "a machine" is dead on. "Lessons in Love" has him driving the song with constant slapping all the way through it. He's really a terrific player, and he's got a great voice as well.
