Great movie. Hard to believe it's 25 years old now.

I have accomplished courtroom attorney friends who say that all you need to know about criminal court room law can be learned from that movie. Love Marisa Tomei in it.

Damn funny movie—"What's a yute?"

They tried to cut Marisa Tomei... What were they thinking?

Oh yeah...
"Mona Lisa Vito: No, there's more! You see? When the left tire mark goes up on the curb and the right tire mark stays flat and even? Well, the '64 Skylark had a solid rear axle, so when the left tire would go up on the curb, the right tire would tilt out and ride along its edge. But that didn't happen here. The tire mark stayed flat and even. This car had an independent rear suspension. Now, in the '60s, there were only two other cars made in America that had positraction, and independent rear suspension, and enough power to make these marks. One was the Corvette, which could never be confused with the Buick Skylark. The other had the same body length, height, width, weight, wheel base, and wheel track as the '64 Skylark, and that was the 1963 Pontiac Tempest."

This is still my favorite quote from the movie though. RIP Fred Gwynne.

A true classic. Loved Fred Gwynne’s performance and a shame he died shortly thereafter.

Have heard it said many times over the years that hers was the one of the least deserving Oscar wins of all time. I diagree. She was perfect in that role!

She has always dogged the rumor that her Best Supporting Actress win was a mistake, that presenter Jack Palance read the wrong name. She must’ve been relieved after this past ceremony to witness exactly what happens when this takes place.

“Mr. Gambini, don’t sit in that chair when you talk to me!”
“He told me to sit here.”
“When you come into my court you will dress lawyerly.”
Way too many good lines in that movie.

...in order to give more of the spotlight to Pesci.
That was, IIRC, when Pesci was in practically everything being released. For me, Public Eye was the “jump the shark” moment.

The funnyest part of that movie was when they were arguing in the motel and Vinniy was trying to figure out what he could where on his deer hunt with the prosecutor. The reply that Tomie’’s character gave made me laugh my backside off.
There were many great lines in that movie. One of the best comedy’s I’ve seen in 40 years.

Cut? That movie wouldn’t have been a lot less entertaining without her character. Absolutely hilarious performance.
