Selling insurance across state lines is a STATE issue - there are no federal insurance licenses. Do we really want to undo STATES RIGHTS to that degree?
It is also the insurance company’s choice as to which states in which to seek a license. Some states are easier to deal with - others, not so much.
I’m not sure, but I think allowing federal chartering of banks led to the mega banks we have now.

Isn’t that EXACTLY what the *true* purpose of “..to regulate between the States...” SHOULD do?!?!
Why do MEN\elderly need maternity\abortion\etc. coverage? 99% of the plans have SOME sort of ‘dependence’ (drugs\alcohol\mental health) baked in...
Fed should come in a say “plan 1) BARE MINIMUM\catastrophic care, plan 2) Plan 1 & add in 2a, 2b, etc. “...IMO, a la carte the sh!t outta things.

And, like the CIA, NSA, etc. I was the lack of follow-up by govt that allowed the balloon-up (look the other way, sham ‘investigations’, etc.). They rubber stamped every merger request, told THEM “you *MUST* loan to the un-loan’able” and put the taxpayer on the hook for the mess.
I don't have a federal driver's license, but my state license is valid anywhere in the U.S.
