Nobody needs "studies" to know that having your sleep cycle disputed twice a year is bad for you.
It's almost as if the clowns in charge want the public to be permanently groggy.
Ergo, every month, we should add an hour to the day.
In two years we'd lap the clock.
In the summer it’s the crazy chortling birds starting up at 4:30 followed by the beginning of daylight at 5 that make the DST so wearying.
Yeah, cause no one ever gets up an hour early except for daylight savings time. Fall is even worse, when everyone sleeps in an extra hour. It’s a wonder anyone survives.
When he was in Paris he liked to stay late at parties in the evening, and didn't like it that it got light so early in the morning when he wanted to sleep.
Nah...
I’m turning my clocks BACK another hour this weekend.
I’m retired.
Late?
Late for what?
I don’t participate in Daylight savings. I keep the same schedule year round and never change my clocks.
I, for one, am much more likely to get outside and exercise or do yard work during DST. I have to believe that is helping me (and others) more than the sleep disruption is harmful.
If DST is killing you, then people should never be allowed to change job shifts or job schedules, due to the detrimental health effects. Think about how just starting back to school after summer break might be disrupting sleep schedules for billions of teens!! Maybe we should do away with school...
I notice no difference in me when the time changes. And I have always enjoyed having my “extra” sunlight in the evening instead of before I get up.
I don’t know why they don’t just add another hour of sunlight in the evening AND the morning during the winter time. That’s when we need it the most!
The human body is not at all adapted to this twice-a-year changing of the clocks. It does not occur in nature at all. Everyone should just admit that it sounded good at the time, but is a stupid idea. There is no perfect solution for what isn’t even a problem. Pick one, preferably Summer Time, and keep it all year around.
Tell me exactly how cutting one foot off the end of a blanket and sewing it on the other end gets you more blanket?
Gain an hour of sunlight? I feel like I'm losing an hour of sunlight because now when I get up, it's going to be pitch dark.
A study from the Kehoe Institute of Geriatrics states that no one gets off this planet alive.

Does everyone who hates DST live in the South. I know in Chicago I appreciate it. If we stayed on regular time all year, the sun would rise at 4:30 in the summer and set at 7:30, if we went to DST in winter, the sun would rise at 8:30 and set at 5:00. Does changing the clock on a Saturday really bother people that much?
I,like many other Freepers, have taken some long plane rides in my life.Mine include many in an east-west direction, that is,crossing time zones.I think the most time zones I crossed in any 24 hour period was 12 (Boston to Hong Kong,non-stop).
Anyone who's ever crossed more than a few time zones in a short period know "jet lag".My fairly signifigant experience with jet lag is that for a few days after taking the flight you feel bad...even terrible...but then you feel absolutely normal.
The concept of a one hour change in clocks...twice a year...being dangerous in any way to anyone but the most "unhealthy" is,IMO,beyond silly.
DST is kept to remind everyone that an all powerful government controls everything in your life. Including time.
Personally, I’m self employed and don’t care about it. I also hate the entire concept of DST. It is stupid, always has been stupid, and always will be stupid.
Just move the clocks ahead 1/2 hr and call it good. Gees how hard is this. It’s stupid to move the clocks twice a year.
I hate it. I call it Government Time.
I we want the light in the evening. I want them to keep the extra hour of light in the evening permanently.
