But still, what are the odds of two machete attacks so close together?
What, these people don't have guns? :-)
Over the past year....just about everyone in Germany has some suspicious nature of a threat. Getting a pistol or gun (just for the house or for hunting....is a major pain, but not impossible). So a lot of folks (honest folks, nut-cases, young guys, etc)...are going to plan B (knife, baseball bat, axe, baton, etc). The baton is usually not allowed either (I carry one in my backpack now).
The odds on this? Unconnected.
If the cops just shared data across the sixteen states, you’d notice 100-200 assault cases per week in most urbanized states (NRW, Hessen, Berlin, etc).
I sat Wed night and watched some German news program on a drug-zone that they had a camera up for three hours one night. Some argument started up between drug-thug #1 and drug-thug #2....both were hyped on their own stuff...intruding on each other’s territory, and suddenly a knife came out. Some third party stopped the mess before someone got stabbed. No cops around. This is regular nightly business in the urban areas like Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, etc. All suffer from start-up ghetto situations, high drug operations, and cops just stepping away from enforcing the law (mostly cause judges won’t judge and prosecutors won’t prosecute).
