good luck with trying to control them thru hunting.

here in california they are the most hunted big game , more than deer. studies have shown you can kill 70% of the population in any given year and not impact the overall number. they can have two litters a year and can have 10 or more per litter. they only seem limited by food availability. really smart animals with few natural predators once they reach juvenile size.
i once watched a large wild pig sow fight off three coyotes who were after her piglets. she did some damage before retreating into dense cover.
the males are covered with really hard armor gristle an are immune to any predator here, and have really big razor sharp tusks. porky pig not.

Here in Arkansas, the research indicates that you must kill over 90% of the population to actually begin making progress on decreasing the population.

We have plenty of these pests on our ranch on the Texas Gulf Coast. They are very smart and avoid traps and nocturnal so you don’t see them in the daylight. You do see the damage they do.
