Monday Breitbart News reported that TV viewers are dropping cable subscriptions in droves for cheaper internet platforms like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, posing an existential threat to ESPN. Tuesday an online rating service spelled out exactly just how disastrous that fallout is just in the last month. According to SportsTVRatings.com, the worlds premier global cable and satellite sports television channel, ESPN, lost a stunning 422,000 viewing homes between February and March 2017. Fox Sports 1 didnt fare very well either losing 77,000 homes.

I would not be surprised that ESPN President John Skipper may be fired within the next 3-4 months. They’ll probably bring back George Bodenheimer, who was highly respected by ESPN employees, to clean up the issues at ESPN in preparation for a new division President.

...and that is the reason for their downfall.
They will. They have SO MUCH cash
The big problem is that ESPN has spent a lot of money to buy the rights to various leagues, events and so on, and can’t recoup that in revenues. What follows is the collapse of Big Sports. The networks aren’t going to pay as much next time the contracts come up. That turns into no more players earning tens of millions a season. Franchise valuations will plummet. The whole edifice of Big Sports is based on TV, and it’s imploding.
As much as I've loved sports over the years, I say, "Bring it on!"
Ticket prices are ridiculous, the common man can't even afford to attend sporting events anymore.
But the real, deep down truth is that Big Sports is doomed because millenials just don't care about it as much.
They need Bob Costas to be on air explaining his disgust for the Bill of Rights every Saturday morning. Maybe have Colon Kapernick’s pic in the background.
