Having lived in PA and OH, I’d have to say that PA outside of Pittsburgh and Philly is REALLY Conservative.
The old joke about how “Alabama lies in between” is pretty much true.
Ohio on the other hand has major urban areas scattered all over the place which are infested with Democrats. My birthplace of Columbus has become Detroit on the Olentangy.
We were along the Olentangy on the northern side of Columbus about a year ago. Very liberal but friends we were visiting very conservative. My part of the state, though, is old fashioned, rural conservative.
