After watching the second televised debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in October 2016a battle between the first female candidate nominated by a major party and an opponent whod just been caught on tape bragging about sexually assaulting womenMaria Guadalupe, an associate professor of economics and political science at INSEAD, had an idea. Millions had tuned in to watch a man face off against a woman for the first set of co-ed presidential debates in American history. But how would their perceptions change, she wondered, if the genders of the candidates were switched? She pictured an actress playing Trump, replicating his words, gestures, body language, and tone verbatim, while an actor took on Clintons role in the same way. What would the experiment reveal about male and female communication styles, and the differing standards by which we unconsciously judge them?

Oh wow, that was insanely interesting. Go read the whole thing when you get a chance, Drummie.
What I find amusing (and sad) is that the bunch of them are still missing the forest for the trees.
Their aim was to understand us Deplorables & this was an exercise in Anthropological Studies of the strange creature washed up on the shore. It hasn’t hit them yet that all they comprehend when they view another person is the outer packaging. So caught up in identity politics in every interaction with another human being!
I fear they will only use this surprising exercise to fine-tune their next Candidate Package. Because it’s all about delivery & appearance, not character & accomplishment.
Thank you for posting this, RC. I too was surprised with the results... perhaps because I somehow expected there was more *there* there to our political opposites.
I never looked at Hillary as a woman at all, frankly. She really appeared to me as kind of a dumpy sexless thing in a pantsuit — or that weird quilt-thing she was wearing for awhile. It’s amazing that the Left STILL can’t come to terms that she was a HORRIBLE candidate. But one of the major attributes of leftists — seriously, from pre-school on, is they can NEVER admit they were wrong. About anything.
Glad you appreciated and enjoyed it, but I’m a little steamed at a few other, rather stupid replies along about now from people knee-jerking over the headline and not reading the article. Give me a few minutes, I’ll come back and give the reply your thoughtful response deserves.
A self-incriminating post par excellence.
Go troll somebody else, mushroom breath.
What a waste of time.
Anthony Quinn NEVER played that role ( Zero Mostel portrayed Tvye, in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, as did Herschel Bernardi, Theodore Bikel, and many, many others in the revivals and the movie )and the the song is “IF I WERE A RICH MAN”; no “WHAT” in that song at all. ;^)
Odd that you’d be wasting your valuable time responding, then.

Try again with a JPEG or a GIF.
In my mind’s eye, I keep seeing Anthony Quinn, grizzled and middle aged, all dressed up for that role. Oh wait..I just realized I must be recalling when he played in Zorba The Greek. Yes, over 700 performances in that role. Similar story, but different culture and nationality.
Hillary always was a little prick so there would be no need to switch genders.
But now that you mention it, her wearing all those badly fitting Nehru suits might point in another direction.
Mrs. Clinton: The unisex bathroom is ready for you.
Yes...Zorba; which he was wonderful as! :-)
Male or female she belongs in prison. Most intelligent people understand this and would not vote for her.
Great article; thanks for posting!! Seriously, the best article I've read in a good while.
(Also, IBTZ.)
(Just kidding! That was so rude!)
LOL, I could watch that clip over and over!
Hillary would still be know as “pantsuit”.
What a great experiment. So fun to watch. I’m glad someone did this.
