You raise a GREAT point there.
I recall that you are a recently retired metro DC-area defense lawyer, and I'm sure you helped a lot of people at low points in their life. Society absolutely needs lawyers.
McMartin case - Average people, false and utterly fanciful allegations, quickly sent up the river in a terrifying way as punishment for doing NOTHING.
PizzaGate - Glittering Elites from the core of the DC social hierarchy, dark allegations, ALL the King's horses and men rush out to CRUSH anyone letting out a peep about it.
Forgot to add:
Some of the anti-PizzaGate PR tactics were actually lifted right from the dynamics of the shameful McMartin Kindergarten imbroglio:
They latched onto the silly, “magic tunnels were under the school”-claim so famous from the really false McMartin case, then stealthfully inserted into “all the ridiculous claims made by PizzaGate Militants”.
But in fact no PizzaGate researcher had Hillary was using magic tunnels there. They said:
1. Alefantis was at great pains to modify a recently bought piece of real estate in a different part of DC, a structure later described as the “Pegasus Museum”
2. Comet was built near an old tunnel
But the Pizza-loving set twisted their words, I conceed very skillfully.
The public swallowed it:
“These fools are claiming ritual child sacrifice under a busy downtown EATERY..!”
They wanted it to sound like, “Alien baby found in watermelon”.
They got very close.
“I recall that you are a recently retired metro DC-area defense lawyer...”
Sorry, wrong. I was never a defense lawyer. I represented Republican and Conservative organizations and issues proactively for years.
In another matter we represented a client civilly who had been falsely accused until the judge threw the whole thing out because the tapes, which the State tried to hide, clearly showed the “counselors” teaching the kids to lie on the stand, telling them their mothers and fathers won’t love them if they didn’t tell the made-up stories on the stand, that they would die if they said something different from what other kids were saying. Another tape showed them bringing a little boy’s favorite teddy bear to a counseling session, ripping the head, arms and legs off the bear, and telling the kid his kindergarten teacher had done it ... etc.
Big dollar settlement
In another case, the State had a wonderfully documented case against a man, complete with his attendance at events that only happened once, etc. The problem was, they were off by a year, as he was overseas in the Navy at the time it all allegedly happened.
Bigger dollar settlement.
Also, we didn’t do divorce work, but when this BS all started, friends from the Matrimonial Bar said at lease 85% of the women wanting divorces were prepared to swear the hubby was a child abuser in order to try to force a bigger settlement.
Yes, it’s that sick out there.
