“Kick his ass until its up around his eye brows”
This is the right answer. The technology isn’t necessarily the problem. The reflex is to create a technology solution to a perceived technology problem. Wrong.
This guy would be unlikely to be a peeping perv again if some male in this woman’s life would do what needs to be done.
Same as in the workplace. Managers always look for a technology way to “block” employees that misuse their computers by surfing the net during work hours. The right answer is to fire them.
That this woman is on camera in a newspaper for having an appropriate reaction of concern and the perpetrator is unidentified calls for extra special treatment of the drone pervert once he becomes known.
Problem solved.
“Electronic jamming is the way to go, though blasting the sucker is more satisfying.”
Nope. The person is the problem. The person needs re-education. A male in this womans life needs to explain in no uncertain terms the consequences of ungentlemanly behavior to the drone operator.
line of sight is not necessary.
The DJI Mavic Pro is a small yet powerful drone that turns the sky into your creative canvas easily and without worry,
helping you make every moment an aerial moment. Its compact size hides a high degree of complexity that makes it one of DJIs most
sophisticated flying cameras ever. 24 high-performance computing cores, an all-new transmission system with a 4.3mi (7km) *range,
5 vision sensors, and a 4K camera stabilized by a 3-axis mechanical gimbal, are at your command
with just a push of your thumb or a tap of your finger.
*Unobstructed, free of interference, when FCC compliant.
And if she doesn’t know who the drone operator is?
I’d bet it’s some neighbor’s basement-dwelling kid. She, or “her male”, had better tread lightly. The parent(s) would not take kindly to someone “re-educating” their precious snowflake.
She might want to get her own drone to follow the annoying drone back to its base, or to dogfight it into non-existence.
Then I guess something like a hunting blind would work. All you need do is avoid being captured on video aiming a gun at the thing - then, why, that shot could've come from anywhere.
Aren’t drones required to be registered with the FAA now?
Think the perp is legal?
Drones can be fun toys, but the same rules of etiquette apply for new technology as for the rest of life. When you use your drone to be rude, karma might give you the bird.
Many have “first person view” headsets that allow you to fly as if your in the vehicle. A buddy of mine flys and races these. Racing drones can go 100 mph and can turn on a dime. You’ll have to have some mad wing shooting skills to bag one if the operator knows he’s flying in a hostile environment.
A hovering drone is no match for a 12 gauge pump. 98.7/100 ave. trap shooter until I was 25.
Dove at 50mph or a covey of quail exploding all around you was good practice.
And an ass kicking for the perv that trys to come and get it back.
Me either.
7 1/2s or 8 shot will do just fine.
Most towns and city ordinances ban the discharge of ALL projectile devices and often list bows and arrows,BB and pellet guns, and slingshots right along with firearms.
Overkill.
I blew one away on my 80 acre property here a while back with a .410 Snake Charmer, using Mexican bird shot, at about 40 feet.
Fell out of the sky just as pretty as you please.
No one has claimed it yet...I've got it hanging inside my gate, with a note for whoever might claim it.
Nobody showed up, yet.
No more drones flying over, either.
I wouldn’t use a gun. I might use some of that 30-foot wasp spray stuff, or maybe my power washer.
I figure any thing that is close enough to my house that I can hit it with a spray gun is fair game.
Might be fun to try to shoot drones with the paintball gun as well.
We see one in our yard it gets knocked down.
At 20-30 yards maybe. At 40-50 #4s.
Unclear in New Jersey. What is a lawful purpose?
