What a nightmare for the engineer to deal with.
At least he's better off than that 23-year old, new father, resident of Dominican Republic, who yesterday won $600 for chugging an entire bottle of Tequila, and immediately dropped dead of alcohol poisoning after collecting his winnings.
Or they were living with a hoarder and went insane
He was such an honor student that he may have lain on the tracks in the wrong direction. Maybe he was trying for a suicide.
Honor student at the Helen Keller School.
Pretty much had to be drugs/alcohol involved, I would think. Although some sober ppl can be awfully stupid.....
Drug case back in the ‘70s involved a neighbor of mine getting himself killed on some train tracks.
“Was he an honor student at Darwins Idiot Savantes?”
Um no! It was at a fine school of Liberal thinking. Note he didn’t use the tracks as a pillow but a footrest!
I did some stupid $#^* when I was 17... but this is just holy crap material.
Sometimes the smartest are not the brightest. High IQ or diligent study is not always accompanied by sense and wisdom.
Maybe he wanted to commit suicide but flinched at the not quite last instant.
I was a 17 year old boy once. Yeah, we played around train tracks. We didn’t lay down and drape our feet over them ... and we damn sure kept our eyes and ears open. Trains big and loud and will FXXK YOU UP if you don’t respect them.
We played around TRESTLES. Would get in the middle of a trestle and run like hell at the last minute to get off before “too late”.
Actually, I can remember doing that once. I was young and dumb then. But not that stupid. I was pretty chicken. I made sure I got off like a minute before the train even got to the trestle. I thought; “Jeez, this is (bleeped) up. Not doing this again”.
And - since I’m still alive - I never did.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
I suppose it is possible that his sone was crazy enough to do that and the wife simply could not recover from grief and decided to end her life in the same way but then anything is possible. I would call this more than suspect.
The other was somewhat more successful at flattening against the structure.
“It took the locomotive between half a mile and three quarters of a mile to stop...”
How many feet is that?
On the bright side...the likelihood of him procreating has gone down dramatically.
It took the locomotive between half a mile and three quarters of a mile to stop...
How many feet is that?
