Some states, like Texas, have girls’ wrestling. The states that don’t occasionally have girls who join the boys’ team. We’ve told our boys they never have to wrestle a girl-they can forfeit if they want. But I always tell them that if they choose to wrestle her then do not hold back one bit-don’t be more gentle than they would be with a boy.

Of course, now that they are at 150 and 170, the chances of facing a female opponent are slim. Our oldest is wrestling in the section tournament today-first time I will be able to make it to a match all year. I’m so excited!

So if the girl loses, can she sue the boy for sexual harassment? That might be an interesting match to observe.\.
