What might Meryl Streep wear to the Oscars? Cross Chanel off the list.
It seems that Streep was quite taken with an embroidered gray silk gown from Karl Lagerfelds most recent couture collection for the house. The dress was ordered, with Streep requesting an adjustment to the design a higher neckline. Done. Such personalization is what couture is all about, along with exquisite execution, and, in the case of Chanel, Lagerfelds design brilliance. What more could the worlds greatest living actress want for Hollywoods biggest night?
Turns out, she wants a paycheck. With work on the dress well underway in Chanels atelier, word came from Streeps camp to cease and desist. I made a sketch, and we started to make the dress, Lagerfeld told WWD. Days later, a phone call came in from a member of Streeps camp. Dont continue the dress. We found somebody who will pay us, Lagerfeld quoted the messenger.

Jeepers...
How much is the Oscar’s “swag bag” worth this year?
This is why when dealing with demonrats - best to get payment up front
“world’s greatest living actress” my ass.
The old whore, still trying to sell it.
I can’t remember watching any of her movies. . . she is in my irrelevant category.
Hey, nobody can play Streep like Streep. At the last award show I saw her acting like she was choking up.
Merely Strep
Maybe she will call Melania Trump to borrow a dress.
And I’ll bet she has a wall around her estate, too.
....at least $200,000.
An actress of moderate skill!
Incredible. Rich people who pretend to be someone else get expensive gifts and disabled veterans squeak by on a pittance. We sure have our priorities straight.
Reportedly $100,000. Although the big ticket items are things like hotel stays that they don’t always use, especially since they discovered all gifts they use are taxable. In the past, swag bags have been worth up to 250K. Those gift bags are not put together by the Oscars, they are companies looking for celebrity endorsement, or a photo of a celeb with their product. From what I’ve read, many of these richy rich celebs are spoiled and don’t feel they should pay for anything. I once waited on Roberta Flack (I worked a few blocks from The Dakota) who was a snobby bitch and not only did she not pay the bill, she did not leave a tip either. The manager was all starry-eyed and I’m like Hey! WTF! lol
Instead of her hysterical Trump rant, she could instead have informed us what Hillary has ever done that would have made her a better choice. Bet she didn't do it because Hillary hasn't one single accomplishment and lots of stupid & illegal acts.
Yummy potatoes.
