For 100,000 years we’ve been killing predators that approach us. Predators evolved to avoid us. Now they are reverting because we don’t kill the ones that are around us, and we do kill the ones that avoid us (hunters spend big $$ on tech to track and bait the shy ones). We’re back on the menu.
The raccoons and bobcats and coyotes with distemper or rabies are fearless. Most critters don’t approach humans unless they are sick or triggered.
And our govt is actively re-introducing the ones we made mostly extinct
