The publisher (I think it was Penguin) hired well known commie agitprop artist Shepard Fairey to design covers for Orwells two antiCommie books. They know nothing of irony.
I heard a lib with degrees in art history talking about liberal and conservative Chinese dynasty eras drawing parallels to today.
These same revisionists would tell you how conservative the USSR commutes were.

Unbelievable. These authoritarian leftists really don’t see how it’s their side pushing hard for the realization of 1984. It’s their side inventing and promoting modern day New Speak and Double Speak (renamed Political Correctness) coupled with hardcore thought policing and the suppression of free speech and uncomfortable truths. It’s their side rioting, attacking cops, and burning property to try shut down the expression of different opinions. It’s their side that refuses to accept the results of the election. It’s their side praising spies in the government for listening to a private citizen’s phone conversations because he worked for Trump. It’s their side that was all for a reset with Russia but in true “we have always been at war with East Asia” style, they are now desperately trying to restart the Cold War solely to try to win a few political points. And perhaps foremost, it’s their side that wants a gigantic federal government to have almost total control over everything in order to mandate radical egalitarianism and to simply do thing they personally like.
They seem to be entirely blind to what they are fighting for and what the consequences of their anti-freedom, anti-American stances are. There is nothing quite like arrogant, hypocritical lemmings being led over the cliff by their indoctrinators, especially when they are also intensely intolerant and tend toward violence and disorder. This article would make a lot more sense if it said that the radical leftists were watching 1984 because it is their guidebook. Or maybe they are just looking for more Communist-style pithy P.C. slogans to paste all over our public schools.
