Thats the last straw
there are new shamrock shakes?! Dammit man, why wasn’t I informed.
Very neat.
I like it.
Looks pretty good, IMHO. Unfortunately, I’m nowhere near to any of the participating stores.
I predict long lines & quick sell-outs of the limited supply of straws.
But McDonalds gum-based processed shakes didnt really melt. They just sort of...got warmer.
I posted on a previous thread on how I made a facsimile straw.
1) Take a straw with a flexible neck and turn it upside down (I have lots around for the grandkids).
2) In several places on the short end of the J, bend it sideways and cut a small corner with a scissors.
3) Then bend the flexible neck, and cut a small slice with a scissors.
4) You can finish up with a drop of hot glue from a hot-glue gun to keep the J short piece vertical with the long section.
Extra: Make two of them, even better make two in different colors. (I have a box of differently colored flexible neck straws).
Pair them together with the small J sections paired to the opposing long section, and glue a couple drops of hot-melt glue via glue gun. Now you have double suction power!
McDonald’s shakes are horrible anyway. One I bought was light, had crystalized sugar in it, and tasted like a chemical mix of foam and flavor. Definitely NOT ice cream.
The Sonic ones are almost as bad. The big one I ordered there was cold on the bottom, not cold above that and had a weird sweet flavor. I finally figured the big shake I ordered was a small amount of ice cream milkshake in the bottom, then the rest was filled with whipped topping.
A local drive-in near here still makes them the old fashioned way. Ice cream, flavoring, milk, well stirred, and very think and cold. There shakes and malts have been my standard of what a shake should be for the last 60 years.
This is just a brilliant bit of advertising marketing by McDonalds masquerading as news. Of course the goldfish MSM swallow the bait whole. Voila, free ad placement.
Speaking of shamrock shakes, does anyone else remember the green Grimace?
That last hole at the end is where you attach the propane tank.
This sucks!
Looks like a contraceptive device that was popular in the early 70’s. Or something that would be in the water tank part of one’s toilet.
Johnny 5 will be happy to know that there is a tool to assist him when he disassembles a McDonalds shake.
So, how much will these STRAWs go for on Ebay?
That's the takeaway.
Looks like an IUD for an Elephant
The sad part is that I’m half tempted to actually go get one of these straws next Friday; one of the two California locations is only a half hour away, and odds are quite good that Uber or Lyft will have a driver promo that night to encourage me to be there anyway.
