When a second counts you don’t want to take many seconds and make noise racking the slide.
It is so hard to chamber all the time. It just depends on the circumstance. I use a Glock 9mm . Once you chamber—You have no safety. ( just don’t pull the trigger)I agonize at the proper decision because in that situation I want to kill that bastard.I guess I will chamber from now on.
Draw it rack it on the way up, I carry state 2
One thing, not mentioned yet, I believe, is the presence of a laser dot on someone’s chest/forehead. It can have a positive effect on the show down.
The one time I had to draw my CW in self-defense, the laser dot on his forehead caused him to drop, prone to the floor and beg for his life.
God Bless Crimson Trace.
I also don’t want to shoot myself in the a$$, then have some smart aleck medical person ask “why did you do that”, and not have an answer.
I have decided to have an empty chamber for the piece of mind it provides.
In the fwiw dept, a weapon that I carry is a S&W 9mm with single action and no safety. I will not carry with one in the chamber.
The last thing I need is to blow off a nut.
