Hollywood profits? You are dealing with corporate accounting which makes Congress look clean. If a movie makes money, rather than shifting all possible profits get routed to various other divisions and subsiaries, then the accountants have failed. If you ever work for a movie, count on nothing other than the wekly paychecks you have already received.

I invested in a gold mining company once and found out how that works. You pay for the discovery work and equipment and if they strike gold, you’ll be RICH!!!

However, this is how it works: If they find nothing, you lose your money. If they actually get a big strike, they sell it cheap to a “new company” and you might get a cent or two on the dollar, while the “new company” makes all the profit. Sadly, you are not an investor in that company.

But it was a very cheap lesson for me. $100.00

You sound as though you know what you’re talking about.
Maybe the ‘talent’ gets so caught up in the excitement of winning, of (finally!) being a star, that they don’t pay attention to all the ‘boring’ minutia.
