Not that the 50s and 60s were any better.One of the best novels about the sleazy underbelly of 1930's Hollywood is Nathanael West's Day of the Locust. One of the characters in the novel, Abe Kusich, is a foul-mouthed and randy midget. I wonder if one of the Munchkins inspired the character.
