Exactly! I think he even says "That's not who we are" when someone suggest they should kinda sorta keep an eye on muslims, you know, because the whole government has been blown up by muslims (allegedly).
The whole attitude of the show is just ... off. There's a crater where the capitol building used to be and everyone acts like it's just another day at the office.
Definitely. In Designated Survivor, it’s like the premise is, the Capitol building can blow up, all of government is decimated, but, see, we are going to skip the massive national post traumatic stress and just deal with the little things, the intrigue, the love affairs amongst staffers, etc.
