One of the things being alleged is that the managers accepted kickbacks from the lawyers who were retained to represent victims. I wonder if there is anything criminal in that. It certainly doesn’t sound like an ethical practice for lawyers.

In fact (if you view the national legislature as one of the loftiest examples of law practitioners) this behavior is perhaps the expected ambition.
