There is a video of the landing at the link.

I wonder what enemy of Bill and Hillary were on that flight.

On Google maps, it looks like a nice long runway with lots of X’s painted on it.
Looks like the ultimate ETOPS destination. “Engines Turn or Passengers Swim” or something like that.

Reminds me of the book “Hatchet”.

Why was one of its engines in Iqaluit?

I’ve flow Swiss Air quite a number of times. Great airline. An engine out is a rare, but sketchy, event on a 777. In mid-flight it should be as safe as this event . . . on take-off? Not so much.

Yikes, that would have freaked me out. Been on that flight many times.

“...makes emergency landing with one engine in Iqaluit”
If 1 engine was in Iqaluit why did the airplane even take off?

Iqaluit Mayor Madeleine Redfern tweeted that the passengers will disembark in shifts to eat and take a tour of the city before another plane arrives to take them to Los Angeles, but later tweeted a correction saying the passengers would remain on the plane. Why the heck did her ancestors take the name 'Redfern?' It doesn't look like there's a fern within a thousand miles of that iceberg! j/k

Sunrise 7:55 AM. Sunset 3:42 PM. Not much daylight for a tour.
