I remember that; it was right around the time that quarter was released. That’s a shame...
Here in NJ people were upset that NY put the Statue of Liberty on their quarter; while I believe the island was legally given to them by the feds at some point, it is much closer to NJ (and very clearly on our side of the line between the states drawn in the Hudson River).
I respectfully question the referenced pictures. They seem to have been taken from possibly significantly different angles. The KOB4 picture seems to be aimed at the camel’s nose, the alleged “missing” mouth being the camel’s left ear.
