They are at the very least clearly breaking the law by hopping a freight train.   That is illegal.

Good point.

But I’m not all that familiar with railroad laws and regulations in Mexico. I’m not sure if hopping a freight train in Mexico is illegal. If it is, there are a lot of people that break that law. It is not uncommon to see boxcars full of people in Mexico.
