I think The Kushner couple believe that it would be advantageous for their daughter to learn a language that close to 1.4 billion people on earth speak.

The Mandarin doesn’t come from the grandmothers.

Ivanka has a nanny that speaks mandarin as a native language and only speaks Mandarin to the girl. She is exposed to both languages everyday.

I don’t know if the nanny moved to DC with the Kushners.
