And then we wonder, were the students traumatized by what they saw??????
As a high schooler of the 70's, we knew to keep our mouths shut about anything that could be a problem for ANYONE! We had a history teacher who drank Bushmills in his coffee thermos. He was the best teacher ever! We had a guidance counselor with a Chevy Van who used to have sex with girls in the parking lot. We had another counselor who went to the Holiday Inn on Saturday nights to give hand jobs in the hot tub. (Yuck) We had a police department that rented an apartment just outside the township line to take in troubled girls after school, smoke weed, and explore their desires. It was headed up by the juvenile officer! We has another teacher who left his wife to move in with a student.
We are not a society of perpetual childhood. Sexuality is exciting, uncomfortable at times, and bad manners if you talk about it.
High school students traumatized by what they saw? Not today’s high school students.
