Comforting to know that the movies and tv shows you watch originally entertained a 20-something unpaid student.

Did they give her some sort of guidelines on how to filter the scripts? If so that would make more sense.

If any 20 year old approved the Weinstein movies mentioned above I would be surprised.

I’ve seen them all——and they were terrific,especially “The Artist”.

Many years ago I heard the director of Flashdance pitching the film to the owner of a property where he wanted permission to shoot.

“It’s the story of a young girl who works as a welder in your subway system. But dreams of becoming a Modern Interpretive Dancer.”

To hear it pitched you had to wonder who in the heck would ever go and see a movie like that.

It was Top 5 box office that year.

I imagine a lot of films are less than impressive when pitched.
