I drive that bridge every day. Traffic has become worse and worse every month. I was so excited when they said they were adding a 3rd lane. Then I heard they were only adding a 3rd lane in one direction. On the other side, the 3rd lane will be used as a bike path. So, the thousands of cars everyday that are stopped in traffic will be held up so 2 or 3 people a day can ride their bikes across this bridge. I went to meetings to complain to no avail.
Someone ought to hang hummingbird feeders outside the meeting places once they’re inside so they can’t get out until your concerns are addressed. The birds are “protected”, after all, and they can’t risk hurting even one.
As to why the hummingbirds are “protected”, I have no clue; they are all numerous species. I’d say the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is unconstitutional.
