I think he wants to get Jeff Sessions confirmed as Attorney General first.

Because Sessions hasn’t been approved and sworn in yet?
To: stockpirate
That said, the travel ban probably should have been done more gently or awaited Sessions’ approval.

And replace them with who?
To: stockpirate
It’s time to act.
Fire all the federal prosecutors appointed by previous presidents.
Impeach federal judges appointed by previous presidents.
Deny Capitol Hill and White House press credentials to members of the press that are biased against President Trump.
To: stockpirate
Because he doesn’t have his Attorney General in office yet.

You can’t file ALL federal prosecutors. The federal court system would come to a halt. Who’s going to prosecute the thousands of federal cases currently pending? Thousands of accused criminals would end up being let go on constitutional speedy trial motions because the cases would grind to a halt. I can see firing all US Attorneys and replacing them like Clinton did but you can’t file every single prosecutor who works for the federal government.

He's already asked one — Preet Bharara — to stay.

Bush II let the Fed Attorneys from the Clinton Administration stay on until he realized they were getting ready to indict him.
Was Bush II weak, or stupid , or both?
If President Trump allows Obama prosecutors and Federal Attorneys to stay on, he, President Trump will be impeached within a year.

Bush 43 and Clinton both did it before having an AG in place. (it took Clinton 3 tries before Janet Reno, remember?)

No big deal. We don’t arrest anyone or enforce laws anymore anyway.
