I always love when people say that President Trump has no experience. Our Federal Government is a huge monopolistic organization. The president is the CEO; the congress and the courts are a big bloated board of directors. Trump has been running companies for decades. He has been successful because he is a risk taker who thinks outside of the box. He is destined to be our greatest president ever. He has more energy and enthusiasm than people less than half his age. How he has kept it up for the past year and a half most of us will never understand. He will completely reshape the country over the next eight years.
A bit premature for such exaltation, but he is certainly off to the best start since Reagan, and in terms of just scramble-the-narrative while resetting the nation’s compass, there has been no president since Lincoln* that has had this kind of effect in such a short period of time. FDR maybe, but it took him longer than one week. So let’s say not since January 1933 has there been this kind of disruption as a result of a new president.
*Caveat: Lincoln’s situation was different, and in his case it was not he who undertook immediate radical action, but the Southern states that did, in response to his election.
