I was just thinking along the same lines. Namely, that the only way to get the full story from his first literary agent re where the “fact,” of his Kenyan birth originated would be to waterboard her. Obviously it came from Obama initially. I’m inclined, however, to believe it was so ubiquitous around Harvard that when Dystel approached Obama with the Journeys in Black and White book proposal, she predicated it on the Kenyan birth without asking Obama to confirm.
To be clear, Obama tacitly confirmed by agreeing to write a memoir that began with his birth in Kenya. [How liberals can get around this fact, when the blurb clearly indicates that Obama’s journeys in black and white began in Kenya, is beyond me.] It would be interesting to hear a factual accout/time line of it all from Dystel’s mouth, if she could be induced to be honest. That’s a very big if.
