I don’t have external speakers or headphones. I hate to go all the way into town to purchase them. But the little bars or graphs that show bass and treble are dancing up and down. That is why I think the computer thinks the speakers are working. I have tried with youtube internet music and a CD.

If the treble and bass graphs are moving, your computer is getting sound, and the sound card is probably OK. Did you check the actual speaker cables, make sure they are fully plugged in,,,haven’t come loose?
