But Wintour watched Michelle, right from the beginning wear the pink sequined athletic shoes w J Crew sweaters and other abominations. She stepped in and asked designers to design. ALMOST ALL of the dresses made for Michelle were gifts from the designers or donors.
Melania and Trump pay for her clothing and, as a result she buys from one of her favorites designers, Ralph Lauren. Michelle was praised for wearing clothes from multi-cultural, mostly completely unknown designers ... some looked good, some did not.

Still and all, when the MOOOOCH was all over the place, when wee barry was in the primary and in the very early days of his presidency, she was touting a certain upscale boutique on Oak Street, in Chicago, as her "go to" shop. Her wardrobe was horrid, back then too and her "stylist" did her no favors back then either!
The vast majority of outfits that the MOOCH has worn have been vastly unbecoming on her and off. I can only think of a very few ( less than the fingers of one hand ), that were complimentary and weird to boot.
Throughout the Obamas' life together, lots and LOTS of people have picked up the tab for them, on what they bought, the jobs they got, and the "good" images they falsely have.
