They have which is really a crock IMO. Their on-line form requires that you put in name, address and ZIP code. Easy enough to get around this if you are writing someone who is not your rep or senator by just getting the address for a hotel or a residence in their district and just use that. We do it all the time and have always been successful. Unfortunately doesn’t mean that anyone in their office reads it or conveys the writer’s opinion to the rep or senator.
Talked with one of the members of Pete Olson’s House staff a couple of years ago. Said Pete didn’t want to listen or pay attention to comments from his constituents on an issue, especially when they didn’t agree with how he had already decided to vote. Staffer has since left as he found the experience very frustrating.
