Since we know little about anything that happened before 11,000 years ago it could be possible that 3 trips ago (around the sun, at 3,600 each) would be around 11,000 years ago.
And imagine a planet sized object swooshing (that’s a technical term) the oceans up all over the planet causing the great flood.
There seems to be evidence of a massive planet-wide flood over 10,000 years ago, that would make it plausible.
so...
WE’RE DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There were plenty of floods just over 10,000 years ago, because that’s when the last glaciation ended. And another really big flood in the Middle East about 6,000 years ago, when the sea broke a natural dam at the Bosphorus and flooded what geologists call the “Pontine Lake” — what is now the Black Sea.
Meh. A close approach wouldn’t be a cataclysmic event. If we knew it was coming, we could prepare by evacuating to higher ground. Any change in Earth’s axis or orbit would mean centuries of possible discomfort (understatement), but we, as a species, could survive.
An impact, however, would be disastrous.
The flood is more likely the result of a great melt from the last ice age.
There are lots of stories about that stuff too.
