Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) knocked President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday for his response to backlash over attacking Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.).
"Dude, just stop," Amash tweeted, linking to a tweet from Trump.
Trump suggested Saturday that he and Lewis work together to focus on the nation's inner cities after a number of Democratic and Republican lawmakers slammed him for saying Lewis was "all talk" and "no action."

Trump will likely hit 20,000,000 Twitter followers in the next day or so. His number of followers have been growing rapidly since the election and I suspect they will continue to grow throughout his presidency. I say keep it up!

Republicans need to stop playing nice and keep on attacking the ‘rats. That is a big reason Trump won. Conservative Americans were waiting for a street fighter and we have one in DJT.

But keeping his mouth shut about Trump was never his forte.
I’m thrilled that Trump beat Hillary. I’d take Trump over Hillary anytime. Originally I was behind Cruz, but he petered out. I voted for the lightweight Gary Johnson. I lean libertarian.
I like what Trump has done so far. I like his appointments. I just think it would be wise if he limited his tit for tat tweets. That’s all. If that rankles you, that is not my problem.

I’m glad you are warming to Trump. I believe he has much to offer us.
I see a weakness in his tweeting, too: He should, for example, in this last Lewis exchange, done none of the personal attacks, and lead with his last line: (paraphrasing) “John Lewis should instead put his time and energy in improving the urban districts like the one he represents. I need all the help I can get!”
His last tweet was brilliant. He should have lead with that one.
I think the Tweets are part of Trump’s appeal, and it’s a great way to get around the press.
At first, I felt the same way, but now I see the genius of it.

Presidential material in 2024? The hell you say. He isn’t that popular or well known in Michigan. That type of political machine died when Mr. Trump was elected.
Republican wussies always want to throw in the towel at the first opportunity and here we have a classic example. I agree with Trump, the heroes in this country should never be allowed to rest on their past laurels for continued respect. Just like Trump’s criticism of McCain, if these guys are true heroes and leaders they need to validate those qualities every day. These two guys gained name recognition and entry into Congress by their past deeds, but it is what they stand for today that matters most.
