The Oakland Raiders have had one foot out of the door of Oakland for years. But Saturday morning the team confirmed it will file relocation papers to move the franchise to Las Vegas. The news is expected to be officially unveiled by Raiders soon and was first reported by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport Saturday morning at 3 a.m. PT.

I think the NFL sees it as adding a market.
And the Raiders see it as having one of their own, with a taxpayer-funded stadium.
It wouldn’t surprise me if they tried something like that. An “exit tax” perhaps?
Reminds me of the time the New York legislature tried to make it illegal to go out of business.
Yup, and Vegas also has the Las Vegas Motorspeedway, a major stop for the NASCAR circuit. Once Vegas gets an MLB and an NBA team, it will be just like Dallas and Atlanta: A bigtime sports town.
