I had to rake random drug tests just to do a sales job. I never had a problem with it. If you aren’t taking drugs, who cares?

Why not. Practically every other job and industry has drug testing .
Where I work they pull a name from the hat or some similar random way.
I’ve been ‘chosen’ more than once.
That clod that got into it with Trump could use a drug and mental exam.

Why not? The press is not entitled by right to have close personal access to the president, it’s a privilege. I’m sure and sincerely hope that the press attending conferences have thorough background checks etc (and these should be stepped up now in view of their overtly hostile attitude), so a drug test is simply one more qualification (also screen for anti-depressants, opioids, benzos in addition to illegal drugs).
I wouldn’t put anything past the press at this point, including taking out the chief executive.
