Fang & I live in the boonies way back on the river. We are
not on any cable; just have an old antenna that sometimes
gets knocked whompyjawed by an occasional storm. We get the
local channels, the home shopping channels, a few very old
tv shows and this and that. We get enough stuff. The home
shopping channels I ignore ‘cause we don’t need any of that
stuff. We sure don’t need any of the fancy shows with all
those “stars” that have fifteen minutes of fame & that we
don’t recognize anyway. I don’t watch much tv.

You can stream anything you can play on your browser using Chromecast.
Hmmm. I thought this was about watching internet media.
If your computer is connected to the internet then you’re all set.
Might have to get VLC media player if you have W10, I think Windows doesn’t provide a media player any more.

We have Apple T.V. and Fire. The Apple has apps you can download just like on an Apple phone. Netflix, Acorn, the big three, ESPN, Fox News, Sky news. Some require subscriptions. iTunes is pay per episode or movie. Fire is likewise but carries different original shows. I only use iTunes and the PBS app. I don’t use the Fire at all. If you have an Apple phone you can stream anything from the phone to your t.v. through the Apple T.V. in 1080p.
Kodi works well on any android device too... just get a HDMI cord that connects your phone to your tv and your phone can be your tv source too. I am now up to a 40” vizio as my monitor so, Kodi on my computer works just fine... but android devices work just as well.
The android boxes on Ebay come even with a/v chords besides the hdmi connector and you could even make an old tube type tv or that huge old rear projection one, a “smart tv” for about $30 now.
Exodus is great, I watch cable tv shows streaming with no commercials. Very much like Direct TV “on demand” function... You can pretty much watch any episode of any show ever aired.

My buddy has let me log into his Western Digital 15 TB iCloud Server which has a LOT of movies available to stream. I'm trying to figure out how to setup my Roku 3 to access this server and stream to the big screen TV it is hooked up to. No problem setting up my Windows devices to stream and I could go through the hassle of streaming to my laptop then using the HDMI output of my laptop to my big screen, but I'm 99℅ sure I can avoid this with the Roku. Anyone no how to do this?
Are you sure you don't mean 128 GB thumb drive?

LOL...good catch. Of course. 128 MB would hold 10% of one TV show.
