The media loves two things; celebrities whining about Trump and fact checks.
Today's post combines both of them together as The Point's Fact Check fact checks President-elect Trump's contention that overrated actress Meryl Streep is indeed overrated. Now try saying that three times fast.
The controversy began when Meryl Streep whined at the Golden Globes that Hollywood celebrities were among the most vilified in American society.
"All of us in this room, really, belong to the most vilified segments in American society right now. Think about it. Hollywood, foreigners and the press. But who are we? And, you know, what is Hollywood anyway? It's just a bunch of people from other places."
"Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. If you kick 'em all out, you'll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts."
President-elect Donald J. Trump responded by calling Meryl Streep overrated. This makes him more qualified to be a film critic than most actual film critics who refuse to recognize this simple fact...

Is Meryl Streep Overrated?
WAY over rated. She just does bad accents. There are many actors better then her in acting and class.
I have never seen a movie of hers.
Someone on FPM wrote that Streep owes her success to having a sword for a nose.

You must be pretty stupid yourself to need an ignorant, uneducated person who makes their living memorizing lines written by others to tell you what to think about current events. You sound like a vacuous fool.
Why does anyone listen to the babble from Hollywood actors? So often when they speak candidly using their own brains they are quite different from what they portray in scripted roles, and become babbling idiots.
Some of the actors ar really Mensa caliber. Tommy Lee Jones, for one I think, and Geena Davis. Probably Charleton Heston, and Cate Blanchett, certainly Carrie Fisher, and I would really think Clint Eastwood as rounded in acting, directing, and topic choice. You may not like their politics, but their mental capability and acting are way up there. While durable as a reliable actor, and employable from year to year, keeping herself in reasonable physical shape, I don’t think she’s one of them. And I really don’t like her politics.

Not Mensa caliber from what I’ve read; though, she’s reported to be in the IQ minority for sure. James Woods is argued to have the highest of his peers.
She is definitely certified by Mensa. Google it.
I’ve never seen one of her movies. It stands to stay that way.
I loved that movie. The difference in the hotels was a real crack up.

I dunno. I kind of liked her in Bad News Bears.
I don’t know about overrated, but she sure ain’t pretty.
If any mensa members want socialism and communism, that cancels out any claim that they are smart.

Not to mention the director that takes as many cuts as it takes for her to get it right. We all would be as perfect in our lives as the big screen if we got dozens of takes to get things right.
I have never enjoyed her acting.
Even before I cared about politics, I didn’t like her acting, as i thought she was deadpan and boring.
Mom(RIP) thought so too, and used to call her “Meryl SLEEP”.
I guess they determine the rules about who is members: Those who are nominated and those who accept. I don’t think it has anything to do with your politics. That’s an application, not an intensive quality. I can only crack 140, so that lets me out.
