Agree - and I left off the extra crisp lettuce.
oh man! Add some butter pecan syrup and, wow.
Yup, Primanti’s weregreat years ago when Jo worked the grill. Now it’s more family oriented and open before midnight.
Another Great ‘brgh sammich is/was Frankies on Butler street at the end of the Strip. Used to eat a couple every day day for lunch. HOT sausage...HOT!
You and me both, brother. But I’ve found that I can occasionally sneak off the reservation and no harm done. Going to have me a Mama Mac’s gas station buffalo burger Real Soon Now. I can hear it calling. Just off HWY 2 on HWY 57 in North Idaho. It’s deeeeeelicious. Made with local buffalo. Gotta forego the fries, though.
Swap the Swiss out for some Tillamook medium cheddar and you got yourself a deal!
Don’t forget about our Fried Pork Tenderloin sandwiches here in Iowa.
Oh, wow! That looks so good. And so totally off the reservation for me now.
I haven’t had a decent sandwich in 13 years.
BBQ beef brisket sandwich at Angelo’s in Ft Worth (I get it with a slice of cheddar) or the ribs that are to die for and melting of the bone. The place is an institution. Stock Show parade is in Cowtown this Saturday and the place will be surrounded by many pickups with stock trailers hitched behind. Also where you’ll find most of the PGA players (especially native Texans) during Colonial week. Oh and the pickled jalapenos are free. Guess that about covers it.
I’ll second that for the past 60 yrs, taking to school and now work, Cheap and easy to make and carry
The Old Yeller Cafe in the east Oakland hills across from Bishop O’Dowd High School serves tthe best shrimp poor boy in the world.
There are all kinds of great steak and cheese sandwiches but a Philly CheeseSteak is a very specific sandwich. Don’t call it a Philly CheeseSteak unless it “is” a Philly CheeseSteak...
Here in the Tulsa area, one of the local BBQ places found that their store in Bixby (South Tulsa) sold way more smoked BBQ baloney sandwiches than any other store they had. Thus, it earned the name of "Bixby Steak".
Peanut butter, provolone, thin sliced dill pickle and white albacore tuna on toasted white bread. YUM!
I hear that...LOL
Tommy’s double cheese(chili burger)
The city itself may be lefty, but the 'burbs elected Donald J. Trump. And it isn't just great restaurants like Primanti Brothers where you get first class sammiches. We also have them in gas stations like Sheetz and Speedway too. Did I also mention the prices are affordable?
You and me both, LL - more’s the pity, too. I had a Five Guys burger the other day in a lettuce wrap. It was OK but nothing like in the bun.
Breaded Pork Tenderloin sandwich! That is my favorite! Available in Indiana and some other Midwestern pork producing states.
