As a Toyota owner, I’m pleased with this news. Although I must admit that the reason I bought my older-model Toyota (when it was new) was because it was one hundred percent manufactured and assembled in Japan and I trusted the quality of Japanese manufacturing.

Apparently, one of the Toyota 4 cyl. engines made in the US and installed between 2007 and 2011 suffers from excessive oil consumption. The problem is so bad that my local independent repair shop, which specializes in Hondas and Toyotas, advised us not to buy a used Toyota for princess riverdawg if it had that engine. We bought her a used Honda CRV instead.

Isn’t telling it took these great Americans Dr. W. Edwards Deming, Dr. Joseph Juran, Philip Crosby & others... to turn around the junk coming out of Japan after the second world war!
