More than half of Americans view President Barack Obama favorably as he leaves office, a new poll shows, but Americans remain deeply divided over his legacy. Fewer than half of Americans say theyre better off eight years after his election or that Obama brought the country together.
An Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll conducted after the 2016 election illuminates one of the key contradictions of Obamas presidency. By and large, Americans like him. Yet Obama has been unable to translate that approval to many of his policies, or to parlay his popularity into fulfillment of his goals.
Fifty-seven percent of Americans said they view Obama favorably, while 37 percent said they have an unfavorable view. Just over half said Obamas presidency has been great or good.
Those figures contrast sharply with how Americans viewed Obama just a few years ago. In December 2014, the month after Democrats lost control of the Senate, just 41 percent said they viewed Obama favorably in an AP-GfK poll.

Selective polling allows whatever result you wish for...
This poll is utter and complete BS.

Well, it is the University of Chicago, after all.
The headline should read: Half of Americans ability to think critically is severely damaged.
Don’t believe the poll. It’s the same pollsters that told us Hillary was winning in a landslide.
