How did chicken, bar-b-q, and bread become “black peoples food”, anyway. I’m white, and not only did I grow up on those foods, we still have them regularly.

I can see northerners thinking that, because the blacks that migrated north just brought southern cooking with them, so the yankees sometimes think they invented it.

Me, too. Love all of them. I grew up in the South and still live here and that is what we ate and still do. One Southern food I do not like is collard greens. Love turnip greens, though.

Back when the Carters brought Southern cuisine to the White House a Playboy cartoon featured several of the WH cooks with makeshift weapons fearfully opening a box simply labeled “collards”...

I don’t know about Oklahoma (where Pickens is from) or where his ex-wife is from (they divorced in 2012, she hired this chef in 2014, bringing his name into this is phony scandal because he has no ties to it, she was married to another tycoon in 2000), anyway in Texas EVERYONE eats some cornbread, barbecue, and fried chicken, even MILLIONAIRES.
