We went there frequently when I was a young lad, before they had to put up a fence to keep out the hippies. I’d be in my cowboy hat, boots, chaps and holster with cap gun.
Same here. I used to like to feed the seals, before they had to get rid of them because hippies would put drugs on thier food so they could watch the poor animals trip out.
Likewise. I remember the shock I received when after several years absence I returned to see it all enclosed.
Patriarch Walter Knott was a great man, business man, and patriot. One of my favorite things to visit at his park was the chapel where an illuminated picture of Jesus would grow in light as a voice enunciated some of His teachings. I wonder if it's still there.
That was definitely a better time in our history.
