We can say enough is enough. If they don’t like what we say we need to tell them in no uncertain terms that they need to fix it. The answer has never been more money..... the answer only lies in telling the truth about the situation.

These are wards of the state (our state) senselessly killing one another. It’s time for tough love and damn what the left says about it or accuses us of. I am sick of this and I am very well acquainted with it. So much wasted potential and our tax dollars fund it all. Enough is enough.

Giuliani actually had a technique that worked wonders to clean up entire city blocks. And once cleaned up they were a lot easier to keep that way.

After identifying a bad block (he started with Times Square), you flood that block with police. They check everyone there for outstanding warrants, and arrest and ticket for *any* offense.

Typically the bad guys flee, figuring to come back after the police leave. However, out of their ‘hood, they have no support structure or allies or family, and do not know the “terrain”, which makes starting crime elsewhere a lot harder.

When the obvious problems are under control, a much smaller detachment of the police goes from door to door, getting to know everyone who lives there and visitors who belong there, on a personal basis. So they can instantly spot those they don’t know. So when the bad guys return, the police can zero in on them, making it very hard for them to commit crimes.

Then, when the block is stabilized, the majority of the police move to an adjacent block that also needs clearing, leaving the detachment behind as a block watch, and the process begins again.

The tactic was *very* effective, but President Trump could make it even better.

Once the crime part was under control, it could be augmented with a large contingent of social workers and maintenance men. They not only make sure that those living there are getting the benefits due them, but are also getting social services, medical care, their rental and other leases are fair, etc.

And then to fix the entire building, from bottom to top, so that it has good plumbing and electrical; the floors, walls and ceilings, elevators and stairs are in good repair; that there is good security and safety, etc. Refurbishment.

Also the landlord is informed that rents for existing tenants are fixed, and that tenants cannot be kicked out, so new tenants can take their place at a higher rent; nor can the building, or part thereof, be gentrified. This is the price the landlord pays for the refurbishment that they did not provide.

Since the infrastructure of the entire block is likely decrepit, it might need to get a “long weekend replacement” of new sewers and water, electrical, etc. So the street is torn up for a few days, before being covered with new roadway, sidewalks, fire hydrants and light poles.

If this all sounds very expensive, it is. But the zinger is that it is already part of the federal budget, and has been for many years, but has never been carried out.

But if done the Giuliani way, a block at a time, it will solve the problem for a century. Assuming, of course, that the city, county and state government are not permitted to foul it up with corruption and graft.
