LUNKHEAD is a good'un.

However, Clint Eastwood can turn the word "asshole" into 17 syllables...and THAT word is the very best in the world.
My opinion only.

“Absquatulate’ - meaning to leave town, possibly in a hurry...

In related news, the audio book readings of Mark Twain's books as read by John Greenman for librivox, are incredible and free.

I've done Mark Twain, Huck Finn, and Life on the Mississippi already and will do some more this next year. The narrator's voice adds a great element to the stories.

There's a librivox app that's free also.

I use “lunkhead” and “slumgullion.”

The usage rose sharply in the 1970s, probably due to the United State Bicentennial, and then again in the mid-1980s, perhaps due to the bicentennial of the Statue of Liberty.

Huh?

Note: “bicentennial” is an adjective, not a noun.
